Country IP Blocks

The new Iranian Revolution appears to be escalating as a part of a backlash to obvious election fraud and ballot corruption in the recent Iranian presidential election. If the videotaped murder of 26-year-old Neda Agha-Soltan is any indication, matters will worsen before they improve. In the fashion of most corrupt, dictatorial governments, the ability of the citizens of Iran to send and receive information to the outside world has been severely limited. The Iranian government is now filtering all or most network traffic in and out of the country.

Citizens around the world are responding by opening proxies to the citizens of Iran. These proxies may enable communication to and from Iran and give the Iranian people a chance at restoring a government controlled by its citizens instead of the current obstinate oligarchy.  Some websites, such as  Austin Heap, are publishing proxy lists along with a recommendation that you restrict proxy access to people with Iranian IP addresses. Many of these websites have been linking to Country IP Blocks as a resource for Iranian Access Control Lists. In these troubled times we are happy to be an action resource.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is currently allocated 120 network blocks and 2,150,656 possible IP addresses. As our Country IP Database updates at least once every 24 hours, the network allocations are subject to change.

In addition to providing information on network blocks assigned to Iran, we are also working on mapping all access points to the Iranian network backbone and hope to publish the data at a later date.

As a courtesy we are providing Iranian network blocks in three formats in this post: CIDR, Netmask and Network Ranges. If you need our data in a custom format leave us a note in this thread and we will do our best to comply with your wishes.
